Description
These modest dwellings were annexed buildings and are the sole remains of the former estate named Villa Franca. The chimneys serve as reminders of the many families who once lived here.
Villa Franca, a former two-story mansion, was erected on the estate in 1862 by Jan Schotborgh Cz. (1799-1876). Over the years, the property changed hands several times. By the 20th century, a shoemaker named Theodoor Nieuw became the owner of the place, which had come to be known as “Den Kobá” (In the Dig).
The gabled roof reflects the architectural style of the first half of the 19th century.
