Assembly of structures forming a corral. Two main buildings (nr.44) and elongated block of secondary units (56-74). Main buildings: gable roofs over two-storey structures with ridges perpendicular to each other and separated by a small corridor. Open gallery in corridor space with block of stairs to front court. Adjacent wooden balcony supported by columns. Funnel-shaped gables with 19th century top end and triangular fronton above rectangular moulding respectively. Monumental entrance with two pillars topped with ball ornaments. Secondary structure ranging with Zaantjessteeg accommodating ten small one-storey row-houses. One continuous lean-to roof and ditto gable roof, each covering five units, now turned into small housing units.
Architectural historical and esthetical value because of a.o. the characteristic assembly of large and small structures, the 19th century funnel-shaped gables and the wooden balcony with columns. Architectural historical and cultural historical value as one of the few existing examples of the corral structure in the alley area of Otrobanda and because of a.o. the floor plan with core, front and rear gallery typical of Curaçao. Specific value as part of a protected monumental townscape.
