Description
These former humble dwellings were annex buildings in the backyard of a house located on Breedestraat. The entire plot was filled with small residences and two rainwater tanks. IJzerstraat 11 and 13 were located at the rear end of the plot and were eventually separated from the main property. The corner building housed a small barbershop for a long time. You can still spot an old chimney of the former fireplace around the corner. The slanted roofs, with the higher side facing the street, are typical features of modest annex buildings.
