Characteristics:

Scattered artifacts on surface and subsoil deposits of archaeological artifacts and soil structures dating back 1500 to 325 years. Site of approximately two hectares located on steep rocks north of Knipbaai and the beach. Deposits include archaeological materials of pottery, shells, stone, charcoal, crabs, remnants of animal bones as well as tools made of shells, stone and bone, cut ornaments and human graves.

 

Monument value:

Scientific value because of the large amount of artifacts and soil structures, and human graves from the Ceramic Age; cultural-historical value as one of the largest settlements of the seven main villages of the Ceramic Age.
